2: Traveler #2

Hi, my name is Patricia, I am 34 years old and I am from Uruguay. I moved to the US with my mom when I was 11 years old leaving the rest of my family behind. I was fortunate to be able to visit my family most summers.

Uruguay is a little country south of Brazil and next to Argentina on the Atlantic coast. About 3.5 million people live in Uruguay, but unfortunately there are no indigenous people left because they were killed by the mostly Spanish conquerors. The landscape is primarily rolling hillls with some low mountains and a southern coast.

I love to travel, meet people from different places and learn about cultures and languages. I speak Spanish, English and French. I also love taking photos, sailing and eating chocolate.

In California I am a Clinical Social Worker in Community Mental Health. Before leaving on this great trip I was working as a therapist in San Francisco's Mission District and worked mostly in Spanish. In order to do that I studied Psychology in college and then went on to get a Master's degree in Social Work in Grad School.
