Living in California

Here in California kids like to play sports and go to school to study. We have a long day at school. Every day we study reading, writing, math and science or social studies. At school we also go on field trips, do P.E. and get assigned homework. In school we eat lunch and do exercise to get fit. We also read for at least 30 minutes each day.

The types of sports we like to play are soccer, baseball or softball and basketball. Both girls and boys play sports in California. Sometimes we just play during recess, but many of us are also in leagues and practice afterschool and have games on the weekends.

In our free time we like to play with our friends, spend time with our families and go to the movie theaters. Most of us live in apartment buildings. This makes it easy to play tag together or make up games to play in the pool when it's hot. With our families we like to go to the park and spend time together at home. Some kids also like to draw, read or play with legos in their houses.
