Youth Ages 11 to 12

My name is Edgard Neftalia Ordoñez. I am 11 years old. I live with my family: my dad, Salvador, my mom, Maura and my brother, Fernando. He's older than me. When I'm older I'd like to be someone important in the world, like an astronaut, a world traveler, a story writer or a scientist. What I'd like about being an astronaut is discovering other planets in the universe and seeing if there is life on them. What I'd like about being a traveler is visiting all the countries in the world, learning something about each one and sharing something about my country with each. If I was a writer I'd like to write stories that were interesting and entertaining to read. What I think would be fun about being a scientist is inventing new things that would make working easier in the future. I have one pet, which is a parakeet. He is really talkative and likes playing with me. I'm generally fun, out-going and happy. I have a lot of friends and we love hanging out together.

My name is Reyna Elianeth. I'm 12 years old. This year I just graduated from 6th grade, which means that next year I'll be entering the first year in high school! In my home we are 5 in all. My little brother, Angelito, is 5 years old. My mother's name is Auxiliadora. She's a nurse at the hospital. My father's name is Miguel Angel. He is a teacher at the high school. My grandmother's name is Ramona. I really like spending time with her because she is very loving with me and my brother. In my free time I like to do lots of things. One of my favorite things to do is go to the library to read. My favorite book is Cinderella because you have to use your imagination a lot when you read it. I also like to draw, play with my friends and watch television. I like cartoons and educational programs for kids.
My name is Jader Ulises Rodrigues Zamora. I like sports, particularly baseball and soccer. I live my family in Pueblo Nuevo. My little brother bothers me sometimes when he cries too much. In my house we have two cats and a dog. In the backyard we have a ton of banana trees and lots of birds like to sleep in their branches. When I grow up I'd love to be able to visit other countries and learn from my travels. I enjoy studying, particularly math. Almost every day after school I go to the library. I like the math classes that Irma teaches there. In her classes we do fun activities and games to practice multipying, dividing, adding and subtracting. My favorite game is math-domino. It's kind of like regular dominos, except that it has special game pieces with math problems on them. I also like reading at the library because that I way I can learn new things. I also enjoy reading stories for fun. I have many friends and when the river is full we enjoying going to swim together on the weekends, except that I'm not too excited about going since I almost drowned a few weeks ago. In our town I also like going to the central plaza and to the stadium to watch baseball games. On Sundays I always go to church with my family.
My name is Darwin Eliezer Ramírez Videa. I am 12 years old and am going into the first year of high school (7th grade). I live with my family in Pueblo Nuevo in the barrio Rigoberto López Pérez. I have a parakeet that is one year and two months old. I like baseball and going to the river to swim. I like studying because that way I pass each grade and learn a lot. I particularly enjoy learning the names of all the countries in the world. I also enjoy math. My favorite food is fried fish. In the library my favorite game is chess and my favorite story is Pinocho because a little wooden puppet is turned into a little boy by magic. I love the Harry Potter movies and other movies full of action. Someday I'd like to have a parrot and teach it how to talk. Next year in high school I'm looking forward to learning how to say different numbers in English and learning to pronouce them well.
My name is Eyrin Noel Ramírez Montenego. I like soccer and going to school, although I don't like doing homework. I like with my grandmother because my mother had to go to Managua to find work. In my backyard we have a lot of mango trees and I like manking salads with them. I like action movies. In the future I'd like to be a professional soccer player. .
